We recently did the same thing. We had some heavy traffic areas that were looking really soiled from the dog coming in and out of the house, etc. We bought a similar steamvac and it worked amazing. Carpets looked brand new. On top of the hair and stuff that came out, we also pulled up a TON of carpet fuzz since our carpet is still relatively new from the house being built a year ago.

I was really, really impressed with how clean the carpet looked.

Glad to hear that steamvac works - we have been considering buying one to "clean up" after our senile cat. Sounds like it might do the trick! Thanks for the mention...

David: I'm quite happy with the SteamVac and would recommend it. Definitely helpful with a cat in the house.

Can you use the steamvac on furniture as well? I desperately need to clean my couch.

Barb: You can use it on certain types of fabric. I don't think I can use it on mine.
