It depends on how much time you want to spend. You can have a blog set up on WordPress on DreamHost in a very short amount of time, unless you want to play around with the templates.

I would like to have my own ".com" but I am a bit unsteady about that.

Does that translate into a lot of setting up time? I don't like blogger much, but I don't want to get into something that will just eat up all my free time.

Any advice here?

It's been quite an evening. I moved off Blogger. I configured the iPod Nano I won from the IndexCreditCards.com blog traffic contest. And I gave myself a manicure! (A girl's gotta do something while she does software installs!)

Anyone reading this on Blogger who wants to get off their unreliable servers should take up Flexo on his offer to transfer over. I've got some good tips for making an OPML file for your blogroll import. :-)
